Tekla Campus Program

As many readers know I am teaching a portion of the Msc BIM Strategy Course through Middlesex University in London.  I'm responsible for portions of the course that focus on the cultural and legal implications of BIM and IPD. Collaborative Construction retained the intellectual property rights associated with the program and I am working with a number of other universities around the world to put similar courses in place.  The goal is to stimulate a cross disciplinary conversation among university students and to introduce the students to the tools and processes necessary to deliver BIM and IPD in the real world.

To that end Tekla recently announced the Tekla Campus Program, which provides university students access to a Tekla license while in school.  I've signed up for a license and will take it for a spin as well.  I've used Kimon Onuma's software package in the past as well as Archicad, Revit and Navisworks so I'm glad to get on the Tekla platform too.  Providing university students access to the various tools and processes they encounter in the real world is invaluable.

As part of the Tekla Campus Program Tekla is also awarding scholarships to deserving young students.  The excerpt below describes the award of the first such scholarships to two students in Singapore, another jurisdiction that is adopting BIM in a big way.
Two students at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in Singapore, participating the Higher Nitec in Civil & Structural Engineering Design course, have been awarded with scholarships sponsored by Tekla. The scholarship programme is the first-of-its-kind in Singapore that is offered in the field of BIM software training, and is specifically tailored to provide the students with training and knowledge in BIM software.
I encourage those of you in the academic environment to sign up for the program.

Welcome to the Collaborative Revolution!

Thank you for this great post! When I was getting my house built it was so nice having someone to sit down with and look over the design I had in mind. They offered great services and the construction team was awesome!
