Virtual Reality in the Built Industry




As the knowledge economy expands to fill available space what will the built industry do to keep pace?  Many continue to bid low bid work on design-bid-build projects where profits depend on the failure of others.  Some though look to the future.  And the future includes virtual reality writ large on many different sectors of the industry.  Mining, oil and gas and high rise construction all leap to mind.  But ultimately, event the sale of a single family home benefits from a virtual tour.  How close are we?  Closer than ever before.

VR will offer the average user the potential to enhance the final presentation by combining 3D images, head-mounted displays, sounds, and self-movements.
